“God’s Word teaches us, how to approach Him in times of unbearable suffering.”
- SPEAK TO GOD BOLDY AND CONFIDENT THAT YOU FEEL ABANDONED AND FORSAKEN
- Psalm 22:1
- forsaking him—leaving him to bear his heavy burden alone?
- doing nothing to help him—nothing to save or deliver him from his agonizing situation?
- not responding at all to his painful groans for relief? Roaring or groaning expresses the depth of David’s suffering. It was so severe that it produced audible moans of anguish.
- A. Tell God you cry out day and night, but your prayers seem to go unanswered.
- Psalm 22:2
- B. Acknowledge that God is Holy, sovereign, and worthy of praise and able to save.
- Psalm 22:3-5
- C. Share the fact that you are persecuted by people.
- Psalm 22:6-8
- Seek God’s reason for your prolonged suffering. Ask Him why He is not responding and what He wants you to learn during this chapter of your life.
- Continue to pray and cry out to God. Do not give up on prayer when answers do not come immediately. Be assured that God hears your prayers.
- 1 John 5:14-15
- Stay strong in your faith. Do not doubt God nor accuse Him unjustly.
- Acknowledge God’s holiness and continue to praise Him.
- Remember that it is a privilege to suffer for being a Christian, to be persecuted for Him.
- 1 Peter 4:14-16
- Matthew 28:20
- Hebrews 13:5
